Hereford & Worcester WWT Group

Our group committee includes:

Hereford and Worcester WWT generally hold committee meetings every month. The venue we use for our meetings alternates between the Worcester Golf and Country Club and The Shell Store in Rotherwas, Hereford.

New members are more that welcome to attend. We promote and share news stories using LinkedIn

Recent History – Activities in 2023

We held nine committee meetings and hosted two events at Ledbury Rugby Club.

Topics covered at these events included the HSE strategic priorities, respiratory risks & RPE, asbestos, and moving and handling goods to prevent Muscular Skeletal Disorders (MSDs).

Current Activity – 2024 and beyond

In March we held an event on preventing falls. The event, Working at Height – Controlling the law of Gravity, attracted eighty four delegates. Guest speakers included HSE, a local scaffolding contractor, a Principal Contractor and a plant hire company. Topics covered included rescue from MEWPs, and how to plan and carry out work at height safely. We also had a speaker to talk about suicide prevention.

We are currently planning our next event for September 2024.
This is likely to focus on welfare, how to prevent ill health at work, and prostrate screening.

Our events feature a raffle with proceeds going to charitable causes such as the construction industry charity, The Lighthouse Club.
