Embracing digital approaches to improving risk information management in construction design to improve the identification and communication of risk.

Described in the presentation is the work of the Construction Sector with the Discovering Safety Program, to develop Better Information Management. HSE are attempting to move the BIM acronym forward to embrace both digital approaches to improving risk information management in construction design as well as the use of 3D and 4D models to improve identification and communication of risk.

The presentation describes the principles of the data schema behind the Discovering Safety Construction Risk Library, and shows how this can be put into practice in the 3D Repo Safetibase software. The presentation goes on to describe the work of the BIM 4 Health & Safety Working Group in developing Information Requirements, including a new approach to Project Information Requirements, in guidance which is now published on the UK BIM Framework website.
