WWT Yorkshire & Humber

The Working Well Together (WWT) Group is an industry led initiative, supported by the HSE, and aims to improve health and safety in the construction industry. WWT Yorkshire & Humber Group is made up of approximately 29 local construction and civil engineering companies, local government, safety groups, training organisations, etc.

Governance

WWT Yorkshire & Humber Group committee is made up of Chair (vacant), Vice Chair Carl Green, Treasurer Roland Webb, and Secretary Andrew Ainsworth.

Scope

WWT Yorkshire & Humber Group hold meetings throughout the year and aim to deliver a range of health and safety events, mainly focusing on the needs of small and medium contractors, including those who are about to enter the industry, where members can share their knowledge and give contractors and apprentices the opportunity to find out about the latest developments in improving health and safety - it’s help from the industry, for the industry.

The aim of the events are:

  • improve awareness of high-risk activities and health issues.
  • demonstrate practical measures to control risks; and
  • promote continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

Current Projects

In 2023 Yorkshire & Humber WWT Group will continue their delivery of Safety and Health Awareness Days (SHADs) to the industry. The Group are also planning the next event which will cover the new Building Safety Regulator / legal requirements and the impact to the construction industry. In addition we are looking to run further events this year on temporary works, working at height, traffic management and mental health.
