WWT North East

The Working Well Together (WWT) Campaign is an industry led initiative, supported by HSE, and aims to improve health and safety in the construction industry. WWT North East Group is made up of approximately 35 local construction and civil engineering companies, local government, safety groups and training organisations.

Group name: WWT North East

Governance

WWT North East Group committee is made up of Co-chairs Leanne Scott and Michael Brandwood, Treasurer Stuart Miller, and Secretary Debbie Flynn.

Scope

WWT North East Group meet four times a year and aim to deliver a range of health and safety events each year, mainly focussing on the needs of small and medium contractors, including those who are about to enter the industry, where members can share their knowledge and give contractors and apprentices the opportunity to find out about the latest developments in improving health and safety – it’s help from the industry, for the industry. The aim of the events are to:

  • Improve awareness of high risk activities and health issues;
  • Demonstrate practical measures to control risks; and
  • Promote continuous improvement in health and safety performance.

Current Projects

In 2023 WWT North East Group will continue their delivery of College Safety and Health Awareness Days (SHADs) to the full time learning students. The Group are also planning a large Construction Health and Safety Expo and will take key health and safety messages to construction sites around the North East via their White Van Roadshow.
